LAUNCH OF THE UPHYMOB DRAFT TRAINING PROGRAMME AIMED AT UPSKILLING THE WORKFORCE IN THE HYDROGEN MOBILITY SECTOR
During the 4th and 5th of May, the first draft of the training programme on hydrogen technologies has been presented in Brussels, elaborated by five institutions from four countries of the European Union: Promea - Greece, Innovela - Belgium, Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa - Portugal, Fundación Hidrógeno Aragón and Grupo San Valero - Spain.
The contents presented during these two days upskill technicians working mainly in hydrogen vehicle fleets and in operations, maintenance, and refuelling facilities.
The reports elaborated as result of the prospection phase on the hydrogen market concluded that there is a clear need for technicians in all parts of the value chain: from vehicle parts ordering and inventory management; vehicle instrumentation; H2 powertrain diagnosis and repair; installation and maintenance of H2 refuelling stations; to upgrading the skills of technicians linked to mobility.
The UpHyMob project was approved in the framework of the ERASMUS+ programme in its "innovation development" line and will be operational until June 2024. In the coming months, the first pilot training action will be carried out to validate the contents and methodology applied in the project in four European countries. Grupo San Valero is responsible for this methodology as an expert partner in educational quality. In addition to participating in the development of content, it has led the development of the curriculum and the training manual for trainers and mentoring under European standards.
This programme will also allow the introduction of academic itineraries that facilitate the acquisition of these competences and the pathway for the recognition, validation and integration of the new requirements and qualifications in the current educational systems.
